I build software
worth maintaining.

I'm Benjamin Becht — a software engineer and technical architect. Working alongside people and small teams, I bring senior engineering judgement to systems that are simple to reason about, ship reliably, and survive contact with real-world load. No buzzword theatre, just engineering that holds up.

About me

Senior engineering judgement, applied.

I build and operate production software — from green-field architecture to rescuing systems that buckled under growth. My focus is the unglamorous part that decides whether a project succeeds: clear boundaries, explicit trade-offs, and code the next person can actually read.

This site reflects how I work — fully static, zero trackers, self-hosted fonts, no database. Fast, private, and boring in all the right ways.

Working together?

Let's talk about working together.

A short conversation is the best way to see whether I'd be a good fit for your team — designing architecture, getting it shipped, or untangling something that has stopped scaling.
